If you ever wanted to work in the field of Surgical Robotics, now may be the time to connect with Legacy MedSearch, one of the leading retained medtech recruitment companies in the North America.
Even with my intense focus on surgical robotics over the last dozen years, I have not seen such a quick uptick in hiring as I have recently here at Legacy MedSearch, an executive search firm with a strong robotics, virtual reality and navigation focus.
We have 16 new roles in robotics this week alone- with a hard-stop target hire timeline of 60 days for 12 of the roles. (Here is the Contact link to receive a quick summary of all of our positions, many of which are not publicly posted)
Why are things on fire – now?
SURGEON ADOPTION: The “post Nintendo” trained surgeons are now accelerating the robotic-assisted procedures in many clinical areas to a standard of care, even without higher reimbursement in some instances. Patient benefits aside, the growing evidence of benefits of less radiation exposure to both surgeon and operating room staff, fewer ocular hazards, and the less physical strain from both standing (often in heavy leaded aprons) and wear and tear from operating power equipment have increased adoption. According to Corindus,“Interventional Cardiologists experience the highest amounts of radiation exposure of any medical professional” and more and more surgeons are partnering with risk management in leading hospitals to demand lower risk, higher quality procedures for both their patients – and themselves.
RECENT ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM “INTUITIVE CHALLENGERS”
Most news on the medtech front has been positive, including the recent $42M Mazor – Medtronic strategic alliance which has accelerated hiring on the commercial side in several markets. With their U.S. headquarters literally, across the street from our primary office in downtown Orlando, we have watched the company grow and excel and are pleased to be working with Mazor Robotics in a race to hire the top talent in several markets. For competitive reasons, we are not posting exact locations, but interested and qualified candidates should register their interest and upload their resume through this link.
French robotic maker MedTech’s Rosa system received FDA approval in 2016 and announced during the AANS Annual meeting that they had sold their first system in the United States, to Miami Valley Hospital, a nationally recognized medical facility in Dayton, Ohio.
While the FDA denied the recent submission from Transenterix for SurgiBot and the company was forced to lay off about 15% of their workforce to preserve capital as they re-tool for a planned submission for ALF-X in the next twelve months – which could prompt a re-hiring scenario for later this year.
In any technology race, the company(s) with the best people win.
Good people – scientists and engineers, legal minds and regulatory strategists, commercial leaders and everything in between, set the pace in the growth acceleration.
One of our long-term clients is on the cusp of achieving even greater success and they have engaged us to quickly hire 12 critical positions within the next 60 days. It’s a daunting task in some respects because of the velocity to hire. Good news is, we’ve worked with this company long enough to have been “banking” the most talented engineers, software developers, scientists, QA/RA people and others that will serve in mission critical roles.
Do we know you? Are you the best in your field and have a sprinter agility coupled with a marathoner’s discipline?
With twelve of our new jobs having target hire dates in June or July – if you’ve ever wanted to work for an early-stage robotics company, now is the time to contact us.
With such a time-sensitive deadline, not all of the positions have been posted yet – but for these long-time clients, our commitment to filling these roles is intense. There are positions at most levels in software, mechanical, systems and electrical engineering, marketing, program management, sales, quality and product management. Job descriptions will follow shortly.
